A few more words about Aster. The Aster Hobby Co. Inc. has been manufacturing Gauge One Live Steam models since 1975. Their first model was the famous Southern Railway 'Schools' class locomotive which remains popular with enthusiasts to this day. Since then prototypes have been produced in Gauge One from the USA, mainland Europe and Japan as well as several examples from the UK. The A4 Pacific 'Mallard' and Great Western 'King George V' have proved particularly popular with enthusiasts and collectors. All Aster models are manufactured to the highest quality specifications and in strictly Limited Editions. Once sold out they are never repeated. The values of an Aster model will increase over time. For example a 'Schools' class loco bought in 1975 will be worth 5 times more today in mint condition and probably 4 times more in clean used condition.
